How will the COVID-19 pandemic alter the future of teaching and learning First Aid, CPR and AED?
The impact of COVID-19 will stay for a while with us, as new norms are being implemented like social distancing, hand washing stations everywhere, work from home, and reduced manpower to 30% to run daily operation for various industries to help flatten the curve of COVID-19 contraction within the UAE.
Whilst everything seems to be in a limbo and people have nothing but plenty of time due to current situation, learning and developing your skills as a first aider should never stops.
With plenty of training centers on temporary closure, this poses the big question for those individuals who seeks certification or renewal, for companies that have legislative requirements to comply with the UAE government, on where they can get trained and be certified first aider.
We at HSS Health and Safety Solutions LLC is taking the lead so that learning and development can be provided to everyone at the convenience of their home. Hence, we are now providing WEBINAR courses and BLENDED ONLINE courses related to First Aid, CPR and AED
The webinar or the blended online course is broken into two portions, first the cognitive portion and the second portion is the hands-on skills verification that will be scheduled accordingly within the recommended period of completion of the full course.
What is the difference between Webinar and Blended Online Course?
The Webinar courses if done right can make your audience engaged during the training, it will provide real-time, live training formats, provides an opportunity for the students to ask questions or seek clarification at any time during the session, something that online course and videos cannot do.
Some of the advantages of enrolling to a webinar are time and money-saving as well, going to a training venue involve travelling time and expense but webinar eliminates these, making it more affordable and easier for our students without exposing yourself to the potential contraction of the virus as we adhere to the authorities’ advice about social distancing and staying at home.
We then provide a private 2-hour face to face skills sessions from the authorized instructors for the critical hands-on practice and skill verification assessment. Do not worry strict compliance to DED guidelines strict social distancing will be implemented and observed. All manikins are sanitized and each student will have an individual two-way valve and their assigned manikins to use to avoid direct contact with other persons.
The Blended Online course is broken into two portions, first the cognitive portion can be taken online on your own pace, and the second portion is the in-person hands on skills sessions that will be scheduled accordingly within the recommended period of completion of the full course.
Blended learning is a perfect combination of online content and in-person skills sessions that make scheduling and administering your CPR, AED, and first aid compliance training easy. The students will benefit on a self-directed learning, 24/7 access to the course content, easy to understand video learning that helps build confidence, and lastly the second portion, a face to face skills sessions from the authorized instructors for the critical hands-on practice, as well as providing scenario-based skills session that put the student’s skills in real-life context.
If travelling to our training center still not convenient for our students to complete their skills verification, fret not as we are yet to provide a training solution via a Remote Skills Verification.
RSV – coupled with our existing blended learning programs – will allow you to undergo training while giving you complete flexibility in location and scheduling.
Our fully integrated RSV portal allows students to learn at their own pace and demonstrate required hands-on skills in a live, online setting.
We offer the blended training that encompasses all aspects of training, manikins will be delivered to your doorsteps for your skills verification through an integrated video-conference platform.
Finally, once the cognitive portion has been completed whether via webinar or blended and you successfully passed the hands-on skill verification assessment you will receive your e-learning certification via email.
